Xander Dunlopshed VII, better known as Astley, is one of the main characters of Mission Implausible. He is a Trainee Dimensio-Agent, formerly apprenticed under NaNDeRHeiSeR. His best friend and partner in crime Dangerfist embarked along with him on a mission to travel through time and space using Dimensio-Portals and invade various comic series.
Astley's nickname comes from the name of 80's pop superstar Rick Astley, singer of the hit song "Never Gonna Give You Up". How Astley acquired this nickname is unknown.
History
Astley and Dangerfist were assigned by Commander FoX to travel through various comic series and breathe life into their plots. He is currently still working on that mission, although he causes a fair amount of chaos when spending time between series at the Dimensio-HQ.
Details
As Mission Implausible progresses, readers can slowly begin learning about the pasts of the Dimensio-Agents and trainees. Here is a compiled list of the facts learned about Astley.
- He was responsible for the idea of posing as Mormons when the duo invaded Operation LOSER. It is unknown if he is actually a Mormon or not.
- In Dimensio-Agent training school, Astley did a term paper on the events of the first season of Heroes, and knows very much about all the characters in that series.
- Astley and Dangerfist are acquainted with Mr. Sun, but how they know eachother and how Mr. Sun knows them in every dimension they encounter eachother in is unknown. Mr. Sun hates the two trainees for unknown reasons.
- More often than not, Astley tends to be the leader of the group, giving Dangerfist directions. Astley seems to be slightly smarter and less socially awkward than Dangerfist.
- Astley has supposedly visited Generic Quest as he somehow knows Robozonis.
- Astley was intended to be British, or at least have a British accent. You can't really tell in a comic, though. But he has one.
