The Raving Rabbids, main villains from the last two games in the Rayman series (named Rayman Raving Rabbids and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 respectively), are used as a punishment in The Newsroom. They are notable for their distinct cry "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH", their attempts to kill using tennis rackets and spatulas, and their mad dancing skills.

In The Newsroom

Kept in a trap-doored pit underneath Turaga Dlakii's office, the Raving Rabbids are kept starved. That way, when Dlakii drops an employee into the pit as punishment, they will not hesitate to attack his victim.

The Rabbids first appeared when Aoran and Nukora accidentally released them from their pit, trying to confirm the pit's existence after Dlakii dropped Glacei into it.

The Raving Rabbids appear to be also used for menial labour; on numerous occasions, Dlakii has summoned one up through the pit in order to deliver some item or another which was sitting in the chamber.

Other appearances

During his second foray into comics, DudeNuva, a friend of Turaga Dlakii, used them in one of his episodes, apparently ripped directly from one of Dlakii's comics. Ironically, the Rabbids were pursuing Dlakii at the time.

  • No-one truly knows how many Raving Rabbids Dlakii has captured. It is generally thought to be over fifty.
  • The Raving Rabbids have had two entirely different sprite forms throughout their Newsroom appearances.
    • The first Rabbid style was made by Turaga Dlakii.
    • The second style consisted of actual game sprites ripped from a GameBoy Advance version of Rayman Raving Rabbids, and subsequently obtained by Dlakii from a website.
