Red (as he is commonly known), the hero of five games in the Pokémon series, appears in The Newsroom's Channel Billion Studios.

In The Newsroom

Red has appeared in only one episode of The Newsroom, as a one-shot character. He was invited onto the Tomorrow Show to be interviewed by Serasha and Momati, in relation to his recent role in Super Smash Bros Brawl; accompanying him was his Pikachu. During the interview, Serasha brought up the subject of his Pokémon, asking whether he had anything new with him. In reply, Red sent out his newly-caught Wailord, which subsequently destroyed the studio's upper floors.

Shortly after, Dlakii was seen demanding compensation for the destruction of his building; Red, having never received payment for his roles in various games, was incapable of paying up.

"YOU WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO LET OUT YOUR WAILORD IN MY STUDIO?! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!!! YOU'LL GIVE ME THE MONEY TO FIX IT, WHILE MY MUDKIP SLAPPY-FIGHTS YOUR *shudders* PIKACHU!!!"

Red is intended to reappear eventually.

Pokémon

At the time of his first (and only) appearance, Red had only two Pokémon accompanying him - his iconic Pikachu, and the Wailord responsible for the destruction of the studio.

Trivia

  • At the time of his appearance, the only Pokémon Red had with him were his Pikachu and Wailord.
  • Turaga Dlakii is not a fan of Red, Pikachu, or Wailord; indeed, Pikachu is his least favourite Pokémon ever.
  • According to Turaga Dlakii, the Wailord could have been a Groudon instead, the deciding factor being that Wailord is physically much larger.
